Parents push MVLA for broader reopening plan
MVLA is planning to bring students back using a hybrid schedule, above, starting in mid-April.
The Mountain View Los Altos Union High School laid out its plan to resume in-person classes in mid-April at a board of trustees study session Monday (March 8), but parents and students who called into the virtual meeting largely urged the district to bring kids back sooner and for longer periods of time.
The district and teachers’ union announced a deal last week that would have teachers return to campus April 19 to lead in-person lessons in a hybrid model. Under the plan, a student would be on campus starting April 22 for two half-days a week. The rest of the time, students would continue remote learning.
