Two more virus-related deaths and 124 new coronavirus cases were reported in the state since Tuesday, according to daily numbers released by the Oklahoma State Department of Health.
A total of 454,094 Oklahomans have tested positive for COVID-19 and the state s provisional death count went up to 8,502, the state health department said on Wednesday.
The seven-day rolling average for new cases reported was 116 cases
, the state health department said.
As of Wednesday, 2,995,538 total vaccine doses have been administered and 1,663,357 prime doses have been given by the state. More than 1,354,900 Oklahomans have completed both inoculations.
About 113 Oklahomans are currently in acute care OSDH licensed facilities with 36 in the ICU and four are currently in other types of facilities due to COVID-19.

The state is investing $35 million dollars in federal relief money to create the Oklahoma School Counselor Corps.
The money will help fund hundreds of new positions in school districts across the state including school counselors, licensed school-based mental health professionals, social workers and recreational therapists.
State Superintendent Joy Hofmeister said, oftentimes, distress in students goes unrecognized until they have a connection with some form of counseling. We know that many children are at the edge, the razor edge of catastrophe,” Hofmeister said. “However, a lot of that is hidden.”
Oklahoma s student-to-school counselor ratio is about 411-to-1, which is much higher than the 250-to-1 ratio recommended by the American School Counselor Association.
