Oklahoma school funding boost earns unanimous House support Oklahoman A bill that would do away with a polarizing charter school settlement and offer new revenue to public schools passed unanimously in the Oklahoma House. The Redbud School Funding Act, or Senate Bill 229, advanced past the House floor on Wednesday. It will return to the Senate for further consideration. The bill would invest $38.5 million in medical marijuana tax revenue to give grants to school districts and charter schools that receive below-average local tax funds for construction and maintenance of school facilities. Virtual charter schools wouldn’t receive funds from this legislation.

OSDH: 283 New COVID-19 Cases Reported, 8 More Virus-Related Deaths Added To Provisional Death Count Eight more virus-related deaths and 283 new coronavirus cases were reported in the state since Wednesday, according to daily numbers released by the Oklahoma State Department of Health. A total of 446,246 Oklahomans have tested positive for COVID-19 and the provisional death count of virus-related deaths is at 8,197, the state health department said on Thursday. The seven-day rolling average for new cases reported was 237 cases , the state health department said. As of Wednesday, 2,500,302 total vaccine doses have been administered and 1,190,280 prime doses have been given by the state. More than 914,100 Oklahomans have completed both inoculations.
