Dog reunited with owners after police seize pets in Quedgeley

AN ELDERLY lost dog has been reunited with her delighted owners after more than a dozen pets were seized in a police operation. Jack Russell Terrier Dora went missing at the start of the month and her owners feared they might never see her again. Sarah Lamplough, Dora’s owner said: “It was so upsetting when Dora went missing, she’s like one of the family. Dora has a heart condition and needs medications, so after a couple of days we assumed that we wouldn’t find her alive.” On 12 February, four days after Dora disappeared, Stroud District Council’s animal welfare officers were involved in a joint operation with Gloucestershire Police and the RSPCA which resulted in a number of poorly and potentially stolen dogs being recovered in Quedgeley.

First man in Gloucestershire served with Stalking Protection Order

A Gloucestershire man has become the first in the county to be served with a Stalking Protection Order under the new Stalking Protection Act. The new law came into force in January and enables police forces to better protect victims by preventing the defendant from carrying out acts associated with stalking. Gloucestershire police obtained the order against the man, who is in his 20s and from Gloucester, during a hearing at Cheltenham Magistrates Court earlier this month following an investigation into a complaint that he was stalking his ex-partner and her family. The order, which has been granted for five years means that the man cannot contact the victim directly or indirectly or carry out surveillance by any means.
