Former EFCC Chairman, Ibrahim Magu
The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the promotion of 24 Commissioners of Police (CPs) to Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIGs).
But the commission did not promote former Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, a Commissioner of Police (CP).
The commission’s Head of Press and Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani, announced this Thursday in a statement in Abuja, titled: PSC Promotes 24 CPs, 35 DCPs, 52 ACPs, 50 CSPs, Drops Ibrahim Magu.
According to Ani, the decisions were the highpoints of the commission’s 12th plenary meeting held on Tuesday, July 6 and Wednesday, July 7, and presided over by PSC Chairman Musiliu Smith, a retired Inspector General of Police (IGP).

Tension has erupted once again along the Assam-Mizoram border after the Mizoram police accused its Assam counterpart of damaging two makeshift camps erected by Mizoram police personnel.
According to Mizoram’s Kolasib district administration, Mizoram police personnel had erected three makeshift camps in the trouble-torn bordering area.

Chief Minister (CM) Himanta Biswa Sarma led Assam government has decided that those who have already been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will no longer have to undergo testing at airports and railway stations upon production of the inoculation certificate,
Economic Times.
CM Sarma has also instructed the administration to not release the monthly remuneration of the Anganwadi workers who do not take COVID-19 vaccines. He has stressed that Anganwadi workers directly deal with the most vulnerable sections of society and that it is very important that each one of them gets vaccinated at the earliest.
