Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin will make a statement on the National Recovery Plan (NRP) at the special sitting of the Dewan Rakyat today.
According to the order paper for the five-day sitting, Health Minister Dr Adham Baba will give a statement on efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic and Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, who is also National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme coordinating minister, will elaborate on the national vaccination programme.

PETALING JAYA: The historic five-day special sitting of Dewan Rakyat begins today under a cloud of dramatic surge in daily Covid-19 infections, which have gone over 17,000 cases.
The sitting, which is expected to be heated with MPs questioning the ministers and the government on measures against the Covid-19 and assistance packages, will kick off amid a few lawmakers not being able to attend after testing positive for the virus.
Political analyst Prof Dr Sivamurugan Pandian of Universiti Sains Malaysia expects fireworks as there have been recent calls from the Opposition to allow for voting after the briefing sessions by the government on a gamut of issues, including the National Recovery Plan (NRP) and vaccination.

Kuala Lumpur: For the first time in 2021, the Dewan Rakyat convenes on Monday (July 26) in a special meeting called during on ongoing emergency declared to curb the Covid-19 pandemic that has seen almost one million cases in the country.
The Dewan Rakyat will sit for five days, from July 26 to 29 and on Aug 2. The House will see Members of Parliament hear government statements on the emergency and measures to fight the pandemic as well as ministers addressing issues raised by the MPs.
The Dewan Negara will sit for three days, from Aug 3 to 5.
