KLANG: Fighting the Covid-19 pandemic goes beyond political inclination, says Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.
He said it was important for both the Perikatan Nasional Federal Government and the Pakatan Harapan Selangor government to work together.
He said he was open to the synchronisation and sharing of data between the Federal Government’s MySejahtera and the state government’s Selangkah applications.
Both applications were developed to monitor the Covid-19 pandemic.
“In my first meeting with Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba, we highlighted about synchronisation of the data.
“Recently, when we met up with Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, it was raised again to combine data and analysis,’’ Amirudin said in a dialogue on Sunday (Feb 7) with The Star adviser Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai, Sinar Harian managing editor Datuk Hussamuddin Yaacub and former Utusan Melayu group chief editor Tan Sri Johan Jaafar.

KUALA LUMPUR: The export of Covid-19 vaccines to third countries, including Malaysia, under existing Advance Purchase Agreements (APAs) will be safeguarded to the largest extent feasible, says Michalis Rokas, who is ambassador of the European Union delegation to Malaysia.
He said the EU was mindful of Advanced Purchase Authorisations contracted by Malaysia, and would endeavour to ensure that Malaysia’s expectations to obtain its deliveries would be met.
“We have made a call on all companies with APAs manufacturing in the EU to honour their obligations to deliver on their commitments, ” he said in a statement.
Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin had said that EU and Belgium had given assurances to fulfil their vaccine supply agreements with Malaysia.

The government will roll-out the National Covid-19 Immunization Programme start at the end of this month, said Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
He said that they are are targeting 80% of the country’s population or 26.5 million individuals and added that it will be given out for free to Malaysians.
Three-phase roll out
The first first phase
Involves 500,000 individuals consisting frontline of health workers and non-health workers starting end of this month.
The second phase
For high-risk groups such as the elderly and the vulnerable who are 60 years of age or older, and have co-morbidity problems like heart disease, obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure. People with disabilities (OKU) are also included in this phase.
