OAK LAWN, IL Children’s museums throughout the Midwest the time-honored tradition of a Noon New Year’s Eve countdown and celebration starting at 11:30 a.m. Thursday. Dec. 31. Due to the pandemic, the Children’s Museum in Oak Lawn is joining 12 other children’s museums in Oak Lawn and Indiana to host a FREE online New Year’s Eve Dance Party Countdown. The Awesome Squad, a children’s music group out of Decatur, Ill., will serve up kids’ favorite hits. Families will be invited to dance along to the songs before the official countdown to noon. Footage from all participating museums will be shared during this unique online event.

Foundation for MetroWest awards funding to nonprofits Community Content NATICK The Foundation for MetroWest, a community foundation serving 33 cities and towns of MetroWest, recently announced it has awarded grants totaling $150,000 to nine arts and culture nonprofits serving the region. The Center for Arts in Natick received $15,000. The 2020 Arts and Culture Grant Program resulted in the largest sum ever awarded by the foundation to arts and cultural institutions in a single year. The grants of up to $25,000 each are intended for general operating support, program support and capacity building efforts, enabling each nonprofit to pursue opportunities that will help improve the quality of life across MetroWest.
