Doha: The Qatari Society of Petroleum Engineers has participated in the Petroleum Engineering competition of Texas A&M University competition - Qatar branch - related to Petroleum engineering presentation papers for a group of College of Petroleum Engineering students.
Engineer Othman Al Yafei represented the Qatar Society of Petroleum Engineers as one of the members of the arbitration.
Engineer Al Yafei expressed his pride in participating as an external arbitrator in such an academic gathering, which strengthens the continuous partnership between the Society and Texas A&M University in supporting all educational efforts for the students at all leaves and for the university educational sector in particular.

Doha: Qatar Society of Petroleum Engineers recently held its first virtual Distinguished Lecture Programme for 2021 season, entitled ‘Techniques to Reduce Operating Costs for Increased Reserves and Profitability’.
The lecture was presented by Philip Hart, a President of Excalibur Ventures, who provides consultations to improve fields through Reservoir and Operational Studies and also designs oilfield equipment for Omega Technologies in Houston, Texas.
The lecture was about how employing certain practices in past field operations reduced operating costs by over $4.4MM per year and helped increase reserves by more than 3 million barrels of oil (MMBO).
