Qatar provided assistance to nearly 100 countries to fight Covid-19

To assist different countries across the globe in their fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, Qatar has so far provided medical and humanitarian assistance to nearly 100 countries since the start of the global outbreak.

Qatar Airways becomes the first global carrier to operate Honeywell’s Ultraviolet (UV) Cabin System version 2.0, further advancing its hygiene measures on board. The latest version of the Honeywell UV Cabin System that is owned and operated by Qatar Aviation Services (QAS), has been introduced to add flexibility, improve reliability, mobility and ease of use compared to its predecessor, with extended UV wings that treat both narrow and wide areas on board, reducing the overall disinfection time. This version also includes a hand wand that disinfects areas like the cockpit and other smaller spaces and is non-motorised leading to less battery consumption. In clinical tests, UV light has been shown to be capable of inactivating various viruses and bacteria when properly applied.

Qatar has provided COVID-19 relief aid to 88 countries: GCO

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Qatar has provided medical and humanitarian aid to as many as 88 countries across the globe, the country’s Government Communications Office (GCO) has highlighted. In a post on its Twitter page, the GCO drew attention to Qatar’s support to the global fight against the pandemic, stating that the combined aid from Qatari government and non-government entities amounts to more than $256 million. Qatar affirms commitment to fair production and supply of Covid-19 vaccines

This came in the statement read by the Permanent Representative of Qatar to the United Nations HE Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani, during the United Nations Economic and Social Council session A Vaccine for All.
