Gerald Vincke, Bishop of Salina as Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Dodge City. Bishop Brungardt denies the allegations and has stepped aside from his duties. The diocese said in a statement Monday that Bishop John Brungardt denies the allegation and will cooperate with the investigation. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation notified the diocese about the accusation and is investigating. The diocese said no further information will be released. Brungardt was installed as bishop in the western Kansas diocese in February 2011. Before that, he served in the Wichita diocese for 12 years in several roles.
