Minister Mallon said, “Practical driving tests have been disrupted due to the Executive regulations introduced to help stop the spread of Covid-19.
“I recognise these are challenging times for us all.
“And I appreciate the frustrations felt by learner drivers unable to take their practical driving tests at this time.
“My priority during this crisis continues to be to keep customers and staff safe while minimising disruption.
“In July 2020 I asked my officials to amend the Driving Licence Regulations to extend the validity of theory test pass certificates, which expire between 1 March 2020 and 31 October 2020 by eight months and the validity of off-road motorcycle test pass certificates.

Car tax updates will see a new emissions charge introduced for those using the most polluting petrol and diesel cars within the city centre. Bath and North East Somerset Council has warned drivers of most pre-euro 6 diesel cars and pre-euro 4 petrol vehicles will be affected by the new charge.

Roche Ireland has been granted planning permission to allow it clear the site of its plant in Clarecastle.
The facility has been slated for closure for some time, but now Clare County Council has given the company the go ahead to carry out the phased demolition of most infrastructure there.

This decision gives Roche the green light to demolish virtually all existing buildings, structures and infrastructure, on, in and under the site of its existing pharmaceutical plant at Clarehill, Clarecastle.
Supporters hope the works will effectively make the site suitable for another large-scale employer to be interested in setting up base there.
