News broke yesterday, Sunday May 9, 2021, that Connecticut has become the first state in the country to vaccinate 70% of its eligible adults.
We re leading the nation when it comes to getting our arms popped with hypodermic needles. Now that Connecticut has vaccinated the majority of it s residents, the spotlight now turns to the other 30%. A good portion of the remaining unvaccinated residents most likely can t make it to one of the massive vaccination sites across the state for one reason or another.

The Waterbury Health Department took to their social media to announce that the Connecticut Department of Public Health is now trying to get the vaccine to those who are homebound due to physical or medical circumstances.

Recently released data from the Connecticut Department of Public Health shows that the coronavirus vaccine is highly effective, with less than 0.1% of fully vaccinated residents becoming infected.
Data shows that a total of 242 people who are fully vaccinated, otherwise known as breakthrough cases, have tested positive for COVID-19. DPH officials said these breakthrough cases occur when a person who has completed their vaccine series becomes infected with the coronavirus.

CONNECTICUT The number of coronavirus variant cases in the state has climbed by 725 cases, according to the latest data released by the Connecticut Department of Public Health.
One of those new cases is a variant new to the state, B.1.617.2, which was first detected in India in December.
