TRUMBULL, CT Rachel S. Brooks, of Trumbull and a senior at Christian Heritage School, was named a 2021 U.S. Presidential Scholar, one of two Connecticut students to receive the prestigious honor, according to Gov. Ned Lamont and Connecticut Acting Commissioner of Education Charlene Russell-Tucker.
U.S. Presidential Scholars are recognized for their accomplishments in academics, the arts, and career and technical education fields, and it is considered one of the nation s highest honors for graduating high school seniors.
The other Connecticut recipient is Greenwich High School senior Colin B. Speaker.

The U.S. Department of Education selected the program’s 57
th class of 161 high school seniors from a national pool of student semifinalists, who were nominated for their high academic performance and distinguishing themselves by overcoming hardships, achieving a unique accomplishment, or demonstrating outstanding leadership.

QUINCY, MA Atlantic Broadband, the eighth-largest cable operator in the U.S., will provide broadband connectivity at discounted prices for financially struggling households through the Federal Communications Commission’s Emergency Broadband Benefit Program.
Under the program starting today, Atlantic Broadband will provide a discount of up to $50 per month towards broadband service for eligible households (and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands) so that they can be connected for distance learning, work from home, telehealth and other critical online destinations during the COVID-19 pandemic.
