JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A glitch allowing patients to preregister even though they don’t meet qualifications to get the COVID-19 vaccine in Florida continued Tuesday at the Edward Waters College community site, although representatives for Agape Family Health Center, which operates the site with the state, said they hoped to have the issues ironed out by Tuesday night.
Gov. Ron DeSantis recently expanded the requirements. Now, COVID-19 vaccines in Florida are available to anyone age 65 and above; health care workers with direct patient contact; long-term care facility residents and staff; and K-12 school employees, sworn law enforcement and firefighters who are age 50 and older.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. A COVID-19 vaccination site that has been up and running for less than a week is already revamping its online schedule. It comes after there were glitches in the system.
According to site directors at the Edward Waters College vaccine site, the online registration system was not screening out people under 65-years-old. Therefore, basically anyone could book an appointment and show up.
The staff that operates the Edward Waters College community site said its online program allowed people to sign up without adequately prescreening for age.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Scores of people who made appointments to get the COVID-19 vaccine at the new Edward Waters College community site Friday morning were turned away because they had been allowed to preregister even though they didn’t meet the qualifications.
The medical staff that operates the site said its digital registration program allowed people to sign up without adequately prescreening for age. Currently in Florida, only people age 65 and above and health care workers are being prioritized for the COVID-19 vaccine.
