Murphy will appear with State Police at the Cumberland County Prosecutor s Office who say they are investigating the mass shooting that took place at a residential party in South Jersey.
Murphy said law enforcement has been investigating the horrific mass shooting at a large house party in Fairfield Township that attracted hundreds of party-goers.
The shootings took place at 11:50 p.m. on Saturday at a residence on East Commerce Street in the Cumberland County community, according to the State Police.
It has been estimated that there were over several hundred people at the subject party, said the prosecutor.
She urged party-goers, including those who may have taken photographs or video, to come forward and share that information with law enforcement.
The prosecutor s office can be contacted at njccpo.org/tips.
The shooting took place in a lightly populated area of Fairfield, a township of about 6,000 residents and one of the earliest settled communities in Cumberland County.
Commerce Street, also called Route 49, is the county s main east-west corridor. It connects Fairfield to Millville and Bridgeton, the county seat.
The township, which is patrolled by New Jersey State Police, previously saw a homicide almost two years ago. Jair Rennie, 25, of Bridgeton was fatally shot in Fairfield in July 2019; another Bridgeton man, Frank J. Baker, awaits trial in that case.
