Ipoh Selatan Community Welfare Club president Al Yashir Yahaya said the incident occurred on Friday (May 7). He said the act is seen as rude and demeaning, as a flag is usually flown at half mast as a sign of respect or mourning. “I am hoping that the police will carry out investigations under the Sedition Act, as this can disrupt the stability and unity in the state, ” he told reporters after lodging the report at the Kampung Rapat police station on Saturday (May 8). Al Yashir advised everyone to respect the state flag and the coat of arms, which is a symbol of national sovereignty regardless of race or religion.

No compound issued to assistant cook from Kampung Rapat, Ipoh-Police

IPOH: A compound purportedly issued for violating the Conditional Movement Control Order’s (CMCO) standard operating procedure (SOP) in Kampung Rapat here that was highlighted on the Facebook page of Kuan Chee Heng on March 14, does not exist. Ipoh district police chief ACP A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz said checks by police revealed there was no compound issued by the CMCO SOP enforcement team from the Ipoh district police as claimed. “Further checks with the owner of the Kuan Chee Heng Facebook page revealed that the complainant could not be contacted through the phone number provided to verify the authenticity of the claim which has gone viral,” he said in a statement here tonight.

Ipoh police to probe claim of assistant cook being wrongly fined with RM10,000

IPOH: The Ipoh district police will investigate a claim that an assistant cook in Kampung Rapat here was wrongfully slapped with the RM10,000 fine for breaching the conditional movement control order. Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz said the Kampung Rapat police station officer had lodged a report on the matter after the claim went viral on social media. ACP A. Asmadi said the police were made aware of the claim that was brought up by social activist Kuan Chee Heng on his Facebook account. The post was also shared on Datuk Seri Najib Razak s Facebook page, which has received public attention.
