New Delhi:Â Bucking the trend of the state changing government’s every five years, the Left Democratic Front is on its way to staying in power for another term. The LDF is leading in 99 of the state’s 140 constituencies. The UDF is leading in 41 seats. The BJP has drawn a blank in the state.
The 2021 Kerala assembly election was a one-phase election held on April 6, 2021. The Kerala assembly has 140 seats â so a party or alliance needs to win 71 to form the government, a number the LDF seems to be comfortable crossing.

It flags report that a unit in Tamil Nadu is lying unutilised
The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has urged the Central government to use all public sector drug production facilities to make vaccines. At present only 1.1% of the country’s population has received both doses of vaccine and 7% has got a single dose.
The CPI(M) Polit Bureau in a statement here said that the Centre must spend the budgetary allocation of ₹35,000 crore for vaccine production immediately.

New Delhi [India], April 1 (ANI): Communist Party of India (Marxist) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury on Thursday alleged that the Central government postponed the cuts on the interest rate on small savings schemes in view of ongoing Assembly elections in four states and one Union Territory, adding that taking the order back is not going to fool anyone .
In a tweet, Yechury said: Modi government clearly wants to further destroy peoples lives and slash small savings. Taking the order back is not going to fool anyone. Their intentions are clear. Cronies incomes are growing into trillions, but the majority are squeezed and destroyed.
