In the South Okanagan, there was exposure at Oliver elementary school. Having the hardest go with potential exposures at the moment is the  Kamloops Thompson school district which has 12 exposures. Beattie Elementary, Norkam Secondary, Arthur Stevenson Elementary, South Kamloops Secondary, Kay Bingham Elementary, Valleyview Secondary, Kamloops School of the Arts, Chase Secondary School, Savona Elementary and Brocklehurst Middle are among those that have had an exposure. The chase occurred along the Trans-Canada Highway near Peterson Creek, until going through downtown and eventually ending on Robinson Crescent near the school. Students and staff were directed at both Kamloops School of the Arts and Lloyd George Elementary were directed to stay indoors until the incident was over.  One witness reported seeing multiple police cars driving up to where the chase eventually ended and a helicopter was circling above. An RCMP media statement said that a man allegedly left a retail store on the 500 block of Notre Dame Drive with several hundred dollars of merchandise, then fled through an emergency exit to a stolen brown truck.

COVID-19 exposure reported at Kamloops School of the Arts

KAMLOOPS Kamloops School of the Arts has been added to the Interior Health school COVID-19 exposure website. According to the site, the exposure happened on four days last week December 7, 8, 9 and 10. Those who had direct contact with the COVID-19-positive person will be contacted by IH public health officials and be asked to self-isolate. If you are not contacted by IH, you are asked to continue attending school as usual.
