The Caribbean Policy Research Institute (CAPRI) with the support of the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office will be launching a new study that provides insight on the socio-economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on vulnerable groups in the Caribbean and assess the efficacy of government’s responses to those mostly affected.
The research titled: “Insult to Injury: The Impact of COVID-19 on Vulnerable Communities in the Caribbean”, will be launched virtually via CAPRI’s YouTube channel on Tuesday, April 20 at 7:30 p.m. GMT-5.
The study takes a deep dive into the impact of the pandemic on those most vulnerable among the CARICOM islands of Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago, zoning in on the thematic areas of water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), education, food security, income, and business sustainability.
