Governor Greg Gianforte gave his first State Of The State speech on Thursday evening, which focused heavily on the COVID-19 pandemic but also promised major actions to boost the economy and reduce government regulations.
Gianforte, a Republican, highlighted several heroes of the pandemic, including a Great Falls doctor who lived in his camper to protect his family after treating patients, service workers who went the extra mile, hospitals like Billings Clinic that operated child-care facilities and other businesses and individuals who helped neighbors during tough times.

SEDONA, Ariz. - Crews in northern Arizona used a helicopter and a tracked vehicle to rescue a total of five people in two incidents in areas blanketed by heavy snow from a major storm, authorities said.
Major highways closed by the storm in Arizona reopened Jan. 26 as snowfall tapered off, the Arizona Department of Transportation said.

Five people had to be rescued after they got stuck in areas of northern and eastern Arizona blanketed by heavy snow from the latest major storm, authorities said.
In another rescue Tuesday, a barefoot hiker stranded on the Huachuca Mountains near Sierra Vista in southern Arizona was airlifted to safety by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
