Thanks to a local organization, we ll be able to learn about Tuscaloosa history soon! The West Alabama Multicultural Alliance is hosting the 2021 Virtual Heritage Festival. It kicks off Friday, Feb 5th, 2021! The festival will feature many local performers, fundraisers and more! I ve been following the countdown on their Facebook page and I m getting excited! I ve seen young dancers ready to perform, and what looks to be a choir from the University of Alabama. I m too ready! Kentuck Art Night Happens Thursday with COVID-19 Protocols Kentuck Art Night Happens Thursday with COVID-19 Protocols The February Kentuck Art Night takes place on Thursday, February 4, 2021, from 5 pm until 7 pm. It will feature the exhibit “Good Trouble: Civil Rights Past and Present”. It will be in the Kentuck Museum Gallery, Teer Gallery, and SoNo Gallery. The free event will be socially distant, and masks will be required. The Kentuck group reminds you that registration by February 4th at noon is required to attend the event. AC Police Stop Woman With Knife From Killing Store Clerk Some great work from some Atlantic City Police Officers may have saved a life Monday evening. At about 7pm, police were called out to Ocean Body Oil in the 1400 block of Atlantic Avenue for the report of a woman with a knife. Officers Valmir Loga and Christopher Dodson arrived and found the woman, Octavia Watson, holding a knife, refusing to leave the store.  According to police, The officers gave numerous commands to Watson to drop the knife who continually refused. Watson yelled at the officers that she was going to kill the store clerk. The officers engaged Watson in dialogue for several minutes pleading with her to drop the knife. Watson complied and was taken into custody without incident.
