The Board of Selectmen unanimously approved a proclamation in May declaring June Pride Month. Selectmen Chairman Jackie Belf-Becker read the proclamation that stated the town is a welcoming community that celebrates and promotes diversity and inclusion and is committed to equal rights and opportunities for all. And since the town recognizes that the nation was founded upon the principles that all people are created equal and that each person has the right to life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness and equal opportunity and the town is dedicated to accepting all residents then it’s only right they celebrate the accomplishments of the LGBTQ+ community.

North Shore communities launch widespread COVID vaccination campaign

Wicked Local Ten North Shore communities have come together to encourage a safe return to summer activities residents know and love by launching a widespread vaccination campaign. Spearheaded by public health officials and supported by city and town leaders, the North Shore Coalition for a Safe Summer will take a regional approach to providing consistent and clear public health guidance regarding vaccination and COVID-safe behaviors so that a safe reopening of local economies can happen as soon as early July. The communities that are part of this coalition include Beverly, Danvers, Gloucester, Hamilton, Marblehead, Nahant, Newburyport, Peabody, Salem and Swampscott.
