Carolina Beach Fire Department releases info about condominium blaze

While there hasn’t been an official ruling on the cause of the fire that destroyed a building in the Paradise Cove Condominium community on April 2, the Carolina Beach Fire Department knows more about how and where it started.   “The investigators have determined the location where the fire started was a common area where building occupants went to smoke,” said Fire Chief Alan Griffin in a news release.  He added that there was currently no indication that the fire that destroyed 619 Spencer Farrow Drive, and displaced the residents who lived in the 12 units there, was intentionally set or a result of mechanical/building failure.
