(WMBF) – The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office announced on Tuesday it has identified a suspect who is wanted in connection to a deadly home invasion from more than a decade ago. James McAllister, 30, of Lumber Bridge is wanted on several charges including murder, robbery and second-degree kidnapping. Back in June 2008, authorities said 23-year-old Daniel Bullard was shot and killed when four men burst into his home. Investigators said Bullard’s 22-year-old girlfriend and their infant child were also in the home. The two were not hurt.

Two people have been injured, including the accused gunman, after a shooting near a Belmont, North Carolina car dealership Thursday. The shooting occurred near Keith Hawthorne Ford, located along North Main Street, around 4 p.m., Belmont Police said in a Thursday night news conference.  The accused gunman was trying to flee the dealership when he crashed a pick-up truck, according to officials. The suspect exchanged gunfire with responding police officers. In a news release Friday, police confirmed the suspect was hit by fire returned by officers. They also revealed he went into the dealership and threatened to shoot employees.

Investigation into missing teen leads to more potential victims

The Dispatch “We got lucky on this one,” said Major Robert Miller with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office on Monday during a press conference on the rescue of missing Denton teen Savannah Childress on Saturday. The two-week investigation led detectives down the rabbit-hole of online messaging apps, which uncovered multiple victims in Davidson and Alamance County who had been in contact with the suspect who had a known history of the sexual exploitation of children. Savannah Childress, 14, of Denton was found in Arkansas on Feb. 20 after being kidnapped by William Robert Ice, 38, of Mercer County, Pennsylvania on Feb. 11.  Savannah was last seen at her home in Denton after she logged off of her virtual classroom through South Davidson Middle School. Her parents were alerted by the Davidson County School system, after she failed to show up to meet her younger sibling at the bus stop that afternoon.
