Formal charges were filed this week against a Carroll man accused of burglarizing a business while naked. According to Carroll County District Court records, 30-year-old Jesse Dean Seyler was indicted Tuesday on one count of third-degree burglary, a class D felony. A Carroll Police Department affidavit alleges Seyler entered the business in the 500 block of East 5
th Street at approximately 11:26 p.m. on Saturday, May 1 and proceeded to disable a security camera in an attempt to conceal the theft of a custom-made bedspread. Video evidence shows Seyler was not wearing any clothes during the incident. His arraignment hearing has been scheduled for Thursday, June 10. A class D felony in Iowa carries a maximum penalty of up to five years in prison and $7,500 in fines.
