Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], April 19 (ANI): Amid the surge in covid-19 cases, the Karnataka government has decided to postpone Zilla Panchayat and Taluq panchayatelection. After discussing with officials and experts, the state government has decided to postpone Zilla Panchayat and Taluq panchayatelection and also thinking to appoint administration in those Zilla and Taluq panchayat, said Karnataka Rural Development Minister KS Eshwarappa on Monday.
He further said that more than 3.5 crore people will participate in these elections. So the same will be decided in Cabinet and will be sent to the election commission.
Karnataka Minister KS Eshwarappa said he s confident national leaders will resolve issue.

Defending his meeting with the Karnataka Governor against Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa s alleged direct interference in the affairs of his department, Karnataka Rural Development Minister KS Eshwarappa today said it was to seek clarification and not to complain.
Rejecting speculations about a change in the state s chief minister, he said Mr Yediyurappa was his leader and loyalty to the party was utmost important for him. I don t want to talk much on this issue as our national leaders are intervening into it and I m confident that they will resolve it.. as per Transaction of Business Rules 1977, CM cannot directly handle things. The chief minister can allocate money to departments but distributing it is left to the department, Mr Eshwarappa said.
