Four individuals waive preliminary hearings in Guernsey, Noble counties

Four people facing felony charges stemming from narcotics investigations, high-speed pursuits and a home invasion waived their right to a preliminary hearing Thursday in the Cambridge Municipal Court and Noble County Court.
Waiving the hearings were Myron Anderson, 53, Vienna, W.Va.; Aaron E. Nathan, 22, Cleveland; Leontae Brooks, 19, Columbus; and Rebecca Sergent, 30, Lowell.
All four cases were bound over from the lower courts to the common pleas court in each county. The case are expected to be presented to a grand jury at a future date and time.
A pretrial hearing for a fifth individual, Odonshae M. Turner, 21, Garfield Heights, was continued until March 11 in the Cambridge Municipal Court at his request.

The Guernsey County Sheriff s Office will not pursue charges against the caregivers of a 6-month-old girl who suffered serious injuries Wednesday, as the head trauma has been deemed to have been the result of an accident. Based on the results of the investigation and after conferring with neurologists from Nationwide Children s Hospital and the Guernsey County Prosecutor s Office, no criminal charges will be filed in this case, said Sheriff Jeff Paden in a press release.
Authorities declined to say how the girl suffered the head trauma, stating in the release that injuries sustained by a 6-month-old infant are believed to be accidental in nature.
