(KERO) â A former Lerdo Justice Facility detentions deputy was arrested and charged with four felony counts after it was alleged he had been having sexual relationships with female inmates at the facility.
According to the Kern County Sheriff s Office, Detentions Deputy Brandon Lawrence was charged by the Kern County District Attorney s Office with three counts of sexual activity with an inmate and one count of attempted sexual activity with an inmate.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) â The Kern County District Attorney has released a statement regarding social media posts by a former employee allegedly depicting areas of the community that have suffered from gang violence and commentary that was disrespectful.
The DA s Office said the posts at issue appear to have been posted from the former employeeâs personal social media account shortly after the employeeâs final day working for Kern County. The DA s Office is investigating the posts and said while rules governing personnel matters require confidentiality in their handling, the District Attorney will ensure that appropriate action will be taken based upon the findings of the investigation.

KERN COUNTY, Calif. â It s the 40th Anniversary of National Crime Victims Rights Week.
The Kern County District Attorney told 23ABC that of the 125 record-breaking homicides that took place last year, 60% of those remain unsolved at this time. She says this week is meant to bring dignity and respect to the victims and their families, who are more than just statistics.

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A 30-year-old woman was charged today with murdering her three young children in a Reseda apartment earlier this month.
Liliana Carrillo is also facing an allegation of using a knife as a deadly and dangerous weapon on her 6-month-old daughter Sierra during the April 10th killings, according to the District Attorney s Office.
In an interview in the Kern County jail, where she is being held on $2 million bail, Carrillo told a reporter for NBC affiliate KGET that she drowned her children because she feared their abuse and sexual assault at the hands of others.
