BOULDER, Colo. (AP) When a man who fled to Mexico after being suspected in the disappearance of a Colorado woman in 2018 returned to the United States, he seemed almost relieved to learn that he was wanted for a sexual assault and would likely be extradited to Colorado, according to a grand jury indictment announced Friday.
“That’s it? . Just sexual assault? . Sweet (claps) let’s get this over and done with so I can get my bond, get it posted, Juan Jose Figueroa said, according to the indictment.
Boulder District Attorney Michael Dougherty announced Monday more charges were filed against the man accused of shooting and killing 10 people at Boulder King Soopers March 22.
Already accusing of killing 10 people, the suspect now faces 105 new charges of attempted murder and violating the Centennial State’s ban on high-capacity gun magazines.

(CN) Prosecutors filed additional charges on Tuesday against a Colorado man accused of killing 10 people at a Boulder grocery store in March.
On top of 10 charges of first-degree murder, Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, 22 of Arvada, now faces 105 charges for attempted murder against civilians and law enforcement, assault, violence and violating the state’s large capacity magazine ban.

Police from numerous jurisdictions responded Monday after a gunman opened fire inside a King Soopers grocery store on Table Mesa Road in Boulder, killing at least 10 people, including a Boulder Police officer. A man is in police custody after the attack.
The Boulder Police officer who entered a crowded grocery store where a gunman had already killed multiple people and shot the man in the right thigh will not be criminally prosecuted.
A decision letter from Boulder District Attorney Michael Dougherty released Thursday justifies the actions of Officer Richard Steidell who, along with almost a dozen other officers, exchanged gunfire with the man who reportedly killed 10 people inside the King Soopers store and in the parking lot.
