Hi we recent sold an item to a customer in Moldova. He gave a delivery address that was in Romania. We have had many customer do a similar thing if sending gifts etc so we never questioned it.
However the customer does not live or know anyone at the address in Romania. It was a previous delivery address on his PayPal account.
We have tried to speak with DHL to try to divert the parcel. They have said it would cost us £70 to get the parcel sent back to us or the parcel will be destroyed
What are my legal obligations here?
Can anyone point me in the right direction.
I am applying for something online and they want a copy of our vat registration certificate, plus printouts of the last 12 months vat returns showing the vat number.
I do vat returns with Accounts Portal and their print outs just show the calculations but not the reg number.
I ve been on the Gov gateway and there I can print vat return, but again, they don t show the vat reg number.

Hi. I m sorry if this has been asked or dealt with another thread, I ve not been able to find an answer.
If we sell an item to a customer in the EU in December 2020 the price must include UK VAT. If it doesn t reach the destination country until Jan 2021, it appears the customer will be liable for local taxes and customs duty (?) In this event they will have paid both UK VAT and local taxes (VAT). Surely that can t be right?
I have scoured the HMRC offerings and queried our Royal Mail account manager, neither can provide a pertinent answer. It s like they just don t want to know, fingers in ears la la la , until we re past 1st Jan!
Hi,
I am the sole director of a small limited company specialising in illustrations and designs. I do a lot of commissions for international customers - mainly in the US.
I have a Lloyds Bank business current account and feel pretty horrified by the lack of transparency in the way money paid from the US, is converted to GBP with absolutely no information regarding the exchange rate used for that transaction, or confirmation of the additional margin/percentage used by Lloyds to make a profit. In addition, there are set fees for all international payments and another complication is that other correspondent/intermediary banks may be involved which adds yet another layer of obfuscation.
