Templestay the latest in Korean tourism
August 13, 2018
Templestay is the latest in Korean tourism. The Cultural Corps of Korean Buddhism is one of the players in this market.
Tmplestay is a unique cultural program which lets visitors experience the life of Buddhist practitioners at traditional temples which preserve the 1,700-year-old of Korean Buddhism history. Tempesta has received great attention both from Korea and Singapore when it was aired on one of the popular TV shows, titled ‘Superman Returns’. In one episode of the program, actor Song Il-Gook’s triplets and entertainer Ko Ji-Yong’s son went to a Buddhist temple and spent a couple of days there to learn how the monks live, eat, and meditate.

Korea s temple food will be taught as a regular course by renowned culinary school Le Cordon Bleu London.
Temple food refers to the dishes monks and nuns eat at temples and is famous for its all-natural and healthy ingredients.
The Cultural Corps of Korean Buddhism said Thursday the school will offer at least one lecture per semester.
The school has offered special culinary demonstrations of Korean temple food on a couple of occasions along with guest chefs.
This semester s first class will be zoomed next week, with Korean Buddhist nun and chef Beop Song introducing several kinds of temple dishes using seasonal vegetables and giving tips for how to prepare and cook them, along with other background information.
