Fifth edition of Mahaseel Festival begins at Katara

Doha: Organised by the Cultural Village Foundation-Katara in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), the fifth edition of Mahaseel Festival inaugurated yesterday and it will continue until January 2.
The opening was attended by a number of Ambassadors and representatives of diplomatic missions in Doha, in addition to Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Agriculture and Fisheries Affairs at the MME, Masoud Jarallah Al Marri, and Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Mahaseel Festival, Salman Al Nuaimi.
Owners of Qatari farms, representatives of the participating national companies and large number of visitors to Katara also attended the opening.
Ibn Al Rayb Cultural Street hosts dialogue with writers

Doha: An event ‘A Dialogue With An Author’ was launched on Saturday in Katara within the programme of Ibn Al Rayb Cultural Street.
The Cultural Street is being organised by the Cultural Village Katara in cooperation with Qatari Forum for Publishers and Distributors at the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
The event aims at celebrating the authors and publishing houses participating in the events and the establishment of an intellectual and cultural dialogue with the audiences of Ibn Al Rayb Cultural Street.
Katara to organise Writing Children’s Stories workshop

Doha: The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) has announced it will conduct a “Writing Children’s Stories” workshop starting on January 24.
The workshop comprises eight sessions to be conducted during Sundays for female participants and Tuesdays for male participants from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Katara Library’s headquarters for Arabic Fiction, Building 32.
This first-of-its-kind training workshop conducted by Katara is aimed at participants aged 18 years and above who wish to learn the art of writing stories for children. Those who want to participate in the workshop must register via e-mail: [email protected]
Exhibition season begins at Katara with “21” show

Unique, eye-catching artworks by 21 Qatari and Arab artists are on display at “21” exhibition, the first gallery exhibition presented by the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) for year 2021 which was unveiled yesterday.
Adorning the walls of galleries 1 and 2 of Katara Building 19, the diverse artworks were a product of a 10-day art production workshop of artists Fatma Al Sharshani, Omar Al Shahabi, Hassan Manasrah, Sumam Ismael Azzam, Nour Elhadi, Nadya Al Qawbari, Thamer Al Dossari, Noor Al Shammari, Ameera Al Aji, Ahmad Nooh, Eman Al Sulaiti, Maryam Al Maadhadi, Hassan Al Salat, Yasser Al Mulla, Amira Radhi, Thamer Al Dossari, Mubarak Al Malik, Hazim Al Hussain, Huda Basahal, Ali Al Mulla, and Ahood
Mahaseel Souq attracts large number of customers

Doha: With its wide variety of fresh local produce being sold at cheap prices, the Mahaseel Souq at the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) has been attracting large number of customers during weekends.
Located in the Southern Area of Katara, Mahaseel Souq witnessed many customers on from Thursday till Saturday last week, the first time it operated since the conclusion of the fifth edition of Katara’s Mahaseel Festival where it was the major feature.
The weekly market offers vegetables, fruits, honey, dairy and poultry products, flower, herbal and ornamental plants directly from local farms to customers at competitive prices.
