Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen and other guests unveiled the special publication ‘A call for freedom in languages’ containing the translations in a virtual event on Monday, the high commission said in a statement.
Language experts of Trinity College, Dublin, Herriot-Watt University, Scotland and University of Wales Trinity Saint David did the translations in their languages in the initiative taken by High Commissioner to the UK and Ireland Saida Muna Tasneem.

The Bangladesh High Commission in London has unveiled the first translations of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman s March 7 speech in Irish, Scottish and Welsh languages in a special publication titled A call for freedom in languages .
Under a special initiative of Bangladesh High Commissioner to the UK and Ireland Saida Muna Tasneem, language experts of Trinity College, Dublin, Herriot-Watt University, Scotland and University of Wales Trinity Saint David completed the translations in their respective languages.
7th March speech was actual declaration of independence: PM Sheikh Hasina
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday said the historic 7th March speech was apparently the actual declaration of independence as Bangabandhu uttered twice with utmost assertion that this time the struggle is for our freedom and this time the struggle is for our independence.
“He (Bangabandhu) said twice that ‘Ebarer Sangram Muktir Sangram. Ebarer Sangram Swadhinatar Sangram’ (this time the struggle is for our freedom. This time the struggle is for our independence) giving utmost assertion in his speech. That means he had clearly said that it’d be the struggle for independence and it’d be a war of independence. So, the 7th March speech can be said as the actual declaration of independence from this point of view,” she said.
