While San Francisco and other counties are pausing vaccinations at their mass vaccination sites, in Alameda County, it’s all systems go for the federal mega site at Oakland Coliseum.
On Monday, FEMA and CAL OES had a soft launch administering vaccines to Oakland police and the people who will be working at the site when it opens on Tuesday. In the midst of mud-slinging at the new Vacaville City Council, let’s take a look at the new council members themselves and what they plan to do.
Jeanette Wylie spent decades teaching students in Vacaville. She also is a leader in her church, and a leader in her teacher’s union. She will be an asset on the City Council. Her priorities are to operate government in a transparent manner, neighborhood parks, affordable housing, transportation routes to accommodate our growth and great schools.
Mike Silva has also spent his career helping others. He is a professor of biotechnology, served two years on the Vacaville School Board and was the president of the Solano County School Boards Association. RICHMOND, Calif. (KGO) The Chevron refinery in Richmond is investigating an oil spill Tuesday afternoon, according to city and county officials.
The spill happened in what s called the Long Wharf off Point Richmond, where a sheen can be seen on the top of the water at Bear Point.
It was first noticed around 3 p.m. It smelled like somebody spilled gasoline in front of my house it smelled very very badly for whole day, said Margaret Berczynski, who is furious that no text alert went out about the spill.
Everyone was quick to talk about the smell, I smelled it and I thought something is going on, said Sue Dennett.
