Mangaluru: A teacher from Kundapura in Karnataka swam in Padmasana posture with his legs tied in chains at Thannirbavi and is attempting to enter the India Book of Records.
Nagaraj Kharvi, who works as a teacher at Kalmanja Government Higher Primary School in Bantwal taluk, completed the one-kilometre distance in 25 minutes and 16 seconds (25:16:63). He started swimming at 8:55 am and completed it at 9:20 am. He used the breaststroke style in the Padmasana posture to swim in the Arabian Sea.
