MAYFIELD, Ky. (KFVS) - A doctor from Paducah was killed in a plane crash in Mayfield on Monday evening, February 22.
Graves County Sheriff Jon Hayden identified the pilot who died as 60-year-old Dr. Henry Babenco of Paducah.
On Monday, February 22 at 4:55 p.m. deputies from the Graves County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a plane crash near the Mayfield/Graves County Airport.
Investigators said the plane crashed in a field near the intersection of Twin Hill Road and Spence Chapel Road, just north of Interstate 69.
A Carlisle County man died in a single-vehicle wreck Tuesday morning near Fancy Farm, the Graves County Sheriff s Office reported.
The sheriff s office was dispatched to the scene of the crash â on Ky. 80 West at Cash Road â at about 6:05 a.m. Deputies believe a 2004 Chevrolet SUV was eastbound on Ky. 80 West when, for unknown reasons, the driver went off the north side of the highway. The SUV hit a concrete culvert, a mailbox, a stop sign and overturned at least once before coming to rest upright in a ditch, deputies reported.
The driver of the vehicle, Amber N. Watts, 29, of Milburn, was taken from the scene by Mayfield/Graves County EMS to Fancy Farm Elementary School, where she was then flown to a Nashville, Tennessee, area hospital by Air Evac for treatment of serious injuries.

Deputies say the driver of a Chevrolet SUV was traveling eastbound on KY 80 west when, for unknown reasons, the driver went off the north side, hit a concrete culvert, a mailbox, and a stop sign before overturning at least once and coming to a rest upright in a ditch.Â
Deputies say the driver was driven away from the scene by Mayfield/Graves County EMS to the Fancy Farm Elementary School before being flown to a Nashville, Tennessee area hospital by Air Evac for treatment of serious injuries.Â
