The Principal Communication Officer, Rita Namisango said earlier that the University Senate in its 169
th meeting held on March 24 approved the proposal from the Ceremonies Committee to host a blended graduation ceremony.
This means that only students with first class, master’s students and PHD students will attend the function physically while others will attend it virtually.
According to the schedule, students from the School of Law, College of Health Sciences and College of Natural Sciences will graduate today.
While the Colleges of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences as well as that of Education and External Studies will have their students graduate tomorrow.

Ohio University College of Business associate professor of instruction in the management department Dr. Andrew Pueschel has been selected as the Ohio University winner of the second annual Mid-American Conference (MAC) Outstanding Faculty Award for Student Success.
“Our faculty are extremely committed to student success both in and out of the classroom, especially Dr. Pueschel, who constantly serves his students and encourages them to go after their goals,” Executive Vice President and Provost Elizabeth Sayrs said. “I am very proud of Andrew for being selected for this award. He is very deserving to be recognized for his outstanding dedication exhibited throughout his interactions with student.”

This morning we learned – along with the rest of the nation – that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have announced a pause in distribution of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine out of an abundance of caution after identification of a rare and severe blood-clotting disorder. These symptoms occurred 6 to 13 days after vaccination and occurred in only six individuals out of the more than six million people who have received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine in the U.S.

May 13, 2021 The University of Rhode Island will confer 4,438 degrees (689 graduate and 3,749 undergraduate) academic degrees upon 4,093 students at the University s commencement ceremonies during the weekend of May 21 through 23. The number of degrees conferred is greater than the number of graduates because many students earn more than one degree.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, there will
not be a large undergraduate commencement on the quadrangle or a large graduate commencement at the Ryan Center.
