Investigation Continues Into Wrong Way Fatal Crash In Prince George’s County July 13, 2021 (CHEVERLY, MD) – Maryland State Police continue to investigate a fatal crash that is believed to have occurred after the operator of a Jeep Cherokee traveled the wrong direction on US-50 in Prince George’s County, claiming the life of a 29-year-old woman. The deceased is identified as Rene Haley, 29, of Mitchellville, Md.  He was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency medical services personnel.  His body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy. Haley was the operator and sole occupant of a 2019 Lincoln SUV.

May 17, 2021 Maryland State Police are investigating a two vehicle crash that resulted in a fatality early Saturday night on I-495 in Prince George’s County. Just after 6:30 p.m., on Saturday, May 15, 2021, troopers from the College Park Barrack were dispatched in response to call for a crash with injuries on I-495 north in the area of Cherry Hill Road. Troopers arrived with fire and rescue personnel and found two vehicles were involved in the crash. The preliminary investigation indicates the driver of a 2018 Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling north on I-495 when he struck the rear of a 2002 Honda Civic and was ejected. The motorcycle operator was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld at this time pending notification of family.

47abc May 1, 2021   COLLEGE PARK, Md.– Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash in which one person died and another was injured early Saturday morning in Prince George’s County. Police say around 3:30 a.m. troopers from the College Park Barrack responded for a report of a multiple vehicle crash. According to the investigation the driver of a 2011 Honda Accord for unknown reasons left the road and crashed into a 2011 Porsche Panamara, which was disabled on the shoulder of the highway. The Porsche caught fire because of the crash and the male driver was trapped inside. That victim, whose identity is pending, was declared deceased at the scene.

Maryland State Police Investigate Man Found Lying On I-495 After Allegedly Jumping Out Of A Vehicle April 15, 2021 (COLLEGE PARK, Md.) – Maryland State Police are investigating an incident where a man was found lying in the travel portion of I-495 after allegedly jumping out of a vehicle. The man involved in the incident is identified as Mahmoud Diop, 30, of Washington, DC. Diop was transported by ambulance to the Prince George’s Hospital Center for medical treatment. Police are investigating whether impairment contributed to the incident. Shortly before 3:00 p.m. this afternoon, troopers from the College Park Barrack responded to the outer loop of 495 at Route 450 in College Park after numerous calls were received reporting a body lying in the roadway.  Upon their arrival, the body of a man wearing black sweatpants and a gray sweatshirt was found lying in the travel portion of I-495.
