MOORHEAD In a last minute decision, a Moorhead man who previously pleaded guilty to killing and dismembering his roommate last year said he wants a trial.
Ethan Martin Broad, 27, appeared Thursday, Feb. 18, in Clay County District Court via videoconference for a sentencing hearing. He pleaded guilty last month to a second-degree murder charge in connection to the April 3 death of his roommate, 19-year-old Dystynee Avery, at their Moorhead apartment, 1310 28th Ave. S.

BISMARCK A Moorhead man sexually assaulted a woman he was in a relationship with this weekend to see if she cheated on him before he stabbed her five times, prosecutors alleged in charging documents.
Juan Pablo Brown, 27, appeared Wednesday, Jan. 13, in Clay County District Court on felony charges of first-degree attempted murder, third-degree criminal sexual conduct and second-degree assault. He could go to prison for half of his life if convicted on the attempted murder count, the most serious of the three charges.
