Voters in Kandiyohi County elected Eric Tollefson to be the next county sheriff by a wide margin. Unofficial results show Tollefson received nearly 69% of the vote.

These endorsements represent the opinion of West Central Tribune Editorial Board. The final decision lies with each voter when casting their secret ballot. Please remember to vote.

Challenge Eric Tollefson has strong internal support and is a solid choice for Kandiyohi County Sheriff. Kandiyohi County Attorney Shane Baker is running unopposed and should be re-elected.

The two candidates for Kandiyohi County sheriff described different leadership styles during a recent voters' forum in front of the League of Women Voters of the Willmar area. Incumbent Sheriff Eric Holien and challenger Eric Tollefson, a deputy sheriff who serves as patrol sergeant, agree on what many of the major issues are but would take different approaches to addressing them.
