Planning is underway to build a $5.4bn green hydrogen hub in Ceará, Brazil – and it’s expected to be the first-of-its-kind in Latin America.
Set to be located at the Pecém Industrial and Port Complex (CIPP), 60km from Fortaleza, the hub will be built by Australia’s Enegix Energy.

“The idea is to transform Pecém into a major hydrogen production hub, not only for the economic activities of Ceará and Brazil, but also for exports to Europe and other continents.”

A US$ 5.4bn green hydrogen hub has been planned in Ceará, northeast Brazil, and most probably the first-of-its-kind in Latin America. Set to be located at the Pecém Industrial and Port Complex (CIPP), 60km from Fortaleza, the hub will be built by Australia’s Enegix Energy.

Governor Camilo Santana (PT) announced a statewide curfew starting this Thursday, February 18th, between 10 PM and 5 AM, with the exception of professionals working in essential services. The measure will be in effect until February 28th, with the aim of curbing the surge of Covid-19 in Ceará.
