Q:
We have an upcoming trip planned and will have to leave our vehicle at the long-term parking lot at the Albany International Airport. Does the new parking garage have long-term parking and rates or do I need to park in the lot on the other side of the airport? J. Martin, Westerlo
A: The albany Airport has closed the economy E-Lot on the east side of the airfield due to the dramatic decrease in air travel during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Doug Myers, director of public affairs for the Albany County Airport Authority.

OSWEGO COUNTY – County STOP-DWI Coordinator Robert Lighthall announced yesterday that Oswego County police agencies will participate in a special enforcement effort to crack down on impaired driving.
The statewide STOP-DWI Crackdown efforts begin on Tuesday, March 16 and end Sunday, March 21.
Lighthall said St. Patrick’s Day is a notoriously deadly period for impaired driving due to the number of celebrations and drivers on the road.
“If you plan on consuming alcohol, have a plan before you start,” he said. “Have a designated driver, call a taxi or walk. Whatever you do, just don’t drive.”

A Bethany man faces a slew of drug and gun charges after the Genesee County Local Drug Enforcement Task Force and others raided a home on Linden Road. As a result, 57-year-old Timothy Tundo was taken into custody. During a search, police said they found LSD, ten high-capacity magazines, an ammunition belt, brass knuckles, an AR-15 style pistol, two machine guns, marijuana, five assault weapons and cash. He was arraigned on 23 felony and misdemeanor counts and was jailed in lieu of bail.
State Police arrested 20-year-old Benjamin J. Lathan and 20-year-old Brandon C. Lewis, 20, both of Bergen for Larceny and Trespass. Troopers investigating the January theft of three trail cameras from a property in Allegany County allege both men were involved in the thefts. Both were arrested and released with appearance tickets for Genesee Town Court, where they are due to appear in March.

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced that more than $37.2 million in federal highway safety grants have been awarded to 502 programs throughout New York State during the federal FY 2021 These grants provide funding to local, state and not-for-profit agencies for projects that improve overall highway safety and reduce deaths and serious injuries due to crashes. The projects awarded funding focused on three types of driver safety initiatives: highway safety, child passenger safety and police traffic services. “The safety of our roadways is critical to communities in every corner of this great state and we’re working to avoid needless tragedies caused by dangerous and reckless driving,” Governor Cuomo said. “This funding will support critical traffic enforcement, community programs and child passenger safety initiatives that will help protect everyone on the road and make our state’s roadways safer for all.”
