Senior leader Partha Chatterjee said that Banerjee would take oath on May 5 and the newly elected MLAs would be sworn in on May 6. Banerjee met Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar in the evening. The governor later tweeted: taking note of communication @AITCOfficial electing @MamataOfficial as leader of 17th Legislative Assembly have invited her to take oath of office of Chief Minister on May 5 at 10:45am at Raj Bhawan. Mild earthquake hits Sikkim-Nepal border, tremors felt in Bihar

No casualty or damage due to the mild earthquake has been reported so far. A mild earthquake of magnitude 5.4 on the Richter scale hit Sikkim-Nepal border on Monday evening. According to National Center for Seismology (NCS), the tremors were felt around 8.49 pm. The earthquake tremors were felt in parts of Bihar, West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh. Initial reports suggest that the tremors were felt in Bihar s Patna, Katihar and Kishanganj. No casualty or damage due to the mild earthquake has been reported so far. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took stock of damage due to earthquake and have spoken to chief ministers of four affected states, sources were quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
