Midwest Communications PEORIA, Ill. The Peoria City/County Health Department Tuesday reported four additional area residents have succumbed to COVID-19. In Peoria County, a female in her 60s and a female in her 80s died. In Tazewell County, a male in his 80s died from the virus. In Woodford County, a male in his 50s died. Overall, just 47 new cases of COVID were reported in the tri-county area. Peoria County reported 27 new cases, Tazewell County added 19 cases, and Woodford County reported just one new case. Hospitalizations continued to decline in the area, as nine fewer patients were hospitalized Tuesday compared to Monday.
