Nairobi Regional Commissioner Kangethe Thuku now says Nairobi is leading countrywide in illicit alcohol consumption by 17.5%.
According to Thuku his officers impunded 770 LITRES OF Busaa and Muratina ,4201 litres of chang’aa and 3315 litres of Kangara the raw material to manufacture chang’aa in Kasarani alone in different operations from January this year and perpetrators arrested.
Thuku says the trend is worrying.
He points at poverty as major cause of consumption of illicit brew adding that government is spending more funds to treat alcohol addicts in Nairobi and street families who are equally addicts.
