Syracuse, N.Y. – The percentage of people who test positive for Covid-19 continues to creep downward in Onondaga County as the number of residents who have been vaccinated increases.
The positive test rate, averaged over the past seven days, dipped to 0.8% today, close to the lowest it has ever been. The county confirmed 79 new cases since Wednesday.
About 100,000 county residents have received at least one dose of vaccine, representing 28% of adults, County Executive Ryan McMahon said. That number should rise by at least 10,000 over the coming week thanks to an increase in vaccine supplies, he said.
