CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas There s a new effort underway in the Coastal Bend to make sure as many teachers as possible get their COVID-19 vaccinations.
On Tuesday morning, the focus was on teachers in area school districts outside the Corpus Christi Independent School District. Eligible teachers in the Phase 1-A and 1-B categories were contacted late Monday night after CCISD Superintendent Dr. Roland Hernandez reached out to the 10 area districts in Nueces County.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas 500 Coastal Bend residents rolled up their sleeves and received their COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday.
It was the first appointment only mini clinic hosted by the American Bank Center. Public Health Director Annette Rodriguez said there was a glitch with the registration process yesterday. Even though there were 500 spots open, roughly 2,000 more people were overbooked.
But there was some good news despite the glitch. Rodriguez said the people who were overbooked on Monday, are now a priority for the very next clinic hosted by the Health District. Those who were part of the overbooked crowed will get a reverse alert invitation.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas As COVID-19 vaccines continue to roll out, more people are voicing their concerns for the homebound elderly who are in the Phase 1B category, but still haven t been able to receive the shot. I talked to at least 15 of my patients during the telephone visit and none of them were able to get the vaccine, said Dr. Salim Surani with Christus Spohn Health Systems. They all are 70 plus.

ROBSTOWN, Texas â Around 2,000 vaccines were distributed to people at the Richard Borchard Fairgrounds in Robstown on Tuesday, finishing up the 4,000 total vaccines received on Monday.
While Mondayâs distribution came with its hiccups, Tuesday seemed to go much smoother for vaccine recipients.
âToday went real good. I got through here a lot faster than I thought I would,â said Tom Danczek, a Taft resident.
