HAMPTON COUNTY, S.C. (WTOC) - Hampton County School District One is working to finish whatâs been one of the most difficult academic years yet.
The Hampton County school district is planning for summer vacation already, and with that comes summer school plans.
Hampton County knows many students struggled in the last year.
âWe know that our children probably are behind a little bit and we would like to catch them up,â said Superintendent Ronald Wilcox.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Richland County School District One will keep students virtual until at least the end of January, district officials said Tuesday, citing high COVID-19 activity in the state.

However, in a letter shared with parents Tuesday, Superintendent Craig Witherspoon said the district âwill remain in Phase 1 (eLearning) at least for additional two weeks, through Friday, January 29.â
Witherspoon said the district wants to keep things as consistent as possible for students.

(Columbia, SC) Two Richland County school districts are returning to virtual learning after winter break.
Richland County School District One and the Richland Two School District will both be reverting to eLearning.
District One hopes to return to a hybrid model by January 19th, and Richland Two wants to return to in-person instruction by then.
Richland Two has also canceled all after-school activities and sports starting today and lasting through January 3rd.

COLUMBIA, S.C. On Monday, the S.C. Department of Education (SCDE) announced that it will provide $84,264,890 in additional federal Coronavirus Relief Fund (CRF) funding to all public schools districts and special schools to support reopening efforts.
The funding can be used for four specific purposes, including safety measures and personal protective equipment, hiring of school nurses, hiring of staff to provide one-on-one instruction and support services for struggling students, and technology equipment to support online learning.
