Baylis Man Faces Child Pornography, Sexual Abuse Charges
A Baylis, Illinois man faces child pornography and sexual abuse charges.
Pike County Sheriff David Greenwood reports a two-month criminal investigation regarding the photographing and video taping of an underage juvenile results in the arrest Thursday of 39 year old Stephen Howard.
Howard is charged with 14 counts of unlawful possession of child pornography and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
The case remains under investigation and additional charges are likely.
The Pike County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.

A Pike County man was arrested last week for failing to register as a sex offender.
On Friday, May 14
th, Pike County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 48-year old David L. Allen of Pearl, Illinois on a Pike County warrant for failure to register as a sex offender.
Greene County Sheriff David Greenwood says the arrest was based on information provided by the public to the Pike County Sheriff’s Department regarding David Allen, a registered sex offender in Pike County, Illinois.
Greenwood says an investigation was conducted and forwarded to the Pike County State’s Attorney’s Office for formal review, who approved the charges and issued an arrest warrant for Allen.

An arrest has been made in connection to a string of armed robberies in Pike & Adams counties. Pike County Sheriff David Greenwood says that Pike County Sheriff’s Deputies discovered a crashed vehicle on Interstate 72 just north of Hull shortly after 9 o’clock last night.
Greenwood says that the vehicle was suspected as being connected to the individual who had been recently involved in the burglary at the Jiffi Stop in Barry and the Dollar General Store located at 2614 North 12
th Street in Quincy on Tuesday.
A short time later, the Pike County Sheriff’s Department began receiving calls of a male subject knocking on doors in Hull trying to get a ride. Law enforcement began searching Hull and the surrounding area for the subject.
Griggsville Woman Arrested on Pike County IL Meth Charges
A traffic stop results in the arrest of a Griggsville woman on meth related charges.
Pike County Sheriff David Greenwood reports deputies made a traffic stop on Highway 107 south of Griggsville just before 1:30 a.m. Thursday.
An investigation led to the arrest of 27 year old Buffy Burbridge of Griggsville for unlawful possession of meth, unlawful possession of fentanyl and unlawful possession of adult-use cannabis in a motor vehicle by a driver.
Burbridge is lodged in the Pike County, Illinois Jail.
